In regards to ministry, the video truck I've been talking about-the one that will be going to all the races-is coming along. We've hired Jim Evans to oversee this project and it will be parked in different locations on race weekends. On the sides of the truck, is has a 9 by 15 ft. video screen where we can show material from ‘I Am Second' and Game Plan For Life as well as some family movies.
I just had a meeting with Zondervan this last week and we are going to have a Game Plan For Life Bible and New Testament Study Bible-which will be a new rendition of the one we distribute through the website. Additionally, there is a devotional being made. All of these materials will be made by Zondervan. Please keep visiting this site to get updates on all of these projects.
The big news though that I want to share with you today is the redesigning of the Game Plan For Life website. The launch for the redesigned website will be February 1st. The new site will have the following features: it will be updated daily, the content will be easier to find, and it will be more interactive. It will continue to have all of our inspirational game plans, articles, and resources as well as continue to feature our 11 experts on the different topics.
Lastly, I want to share with you something I came across this week. You're probably familiar with the story in Matthew 14:25-31 where we find the disciples in a boat out on the lake. It was nighttime and they saw someone walking to them on the water. The disciples were terrified and thought that it was a ghost. Then Peter said, to the person walking on the water, "Jesus, if that's you, ask me to come to you." And Jesus asked Peter to come to him. Peter got out of the boat and started walking on the water toward Jesus but he began to doubt and eventually began sinking in the water. Most people get focused on that part specifically-that he doubted and started sinking. Think about this though-out of all of the disciples, there was only one that got out of the boat. If you and I are going to do something great for the Lord-many times he will say to us, "Come." In other words, "Get out of the boat!" The other disciples in the boat wouldn't get out. That happens to us sometimes, doesn't it? Jesus invites us to do something great for him but we're afraid to get out of the boat. When opportunities come my way and Jesus is saying, "Come," am I going to be afraid to get out of the boat? So, I say this to all of us-"Lets get out of the boat!" Lets do something great for God. The goal is to keep our eyes focused on him and not our surroundings.
